INHYOUK KOO

Inhyouk Koo is an Assistant Professor and Managing Director of the Start-up Support Foundation at both SolBridge International School of Business and Woosong University. He is also the Chair of the Department (Management of Technology) at Woosong University and has served as the Head of Entrepreneurship Center at the University LINC3.0 Group.
His research centers on strategy issues in entrepreneurial settings, with a particular focus on venture-backed start-ups, as well as larger firms experiencing significant environmental changes. For instance, he explores how different dimensions of the CEO/senior manager (e.g. job satisfaction, meaningful work, intrapreneurship), strategic postures (e.g. entrepreneurial orientation), and parent-spin-off linkages (e.g. dynamic capabilities, family involvement) develop within the realm of entrepreneurship. Recently, Professor Koo’s research has focused on enhancing the strategic use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education and digital technology to achieve sustainable management in the post-COVID era.
He has received multiple research awards, including an Honorable Mention Award from the Strategic Management Society (SMS), the Best AI-oriented Research Paper Award, and the KDB-Entrepreneurship Researcher Award. In 2020, he was awarded the ’Best Professor of the Year’ in the Woosong-SolBridge linkage. In addition, he has been recognized as the ’Best Professor in Entrepreneurship’ by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education for his contributions toward inspiring educational excellence and the ‘Best Researcher in SME Policy Analysis’ by the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission. Furthermore, Professor Koo has written prestigious journal papers and held several patents related to education systems based on multiple AI technologies and LMS methodology.
